User ian5142 points out in his signature that the router database is outdated(e.g. http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=175284&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30)

The latest release seems to be this:
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/10-17-2017-r33525/tplink_tl-wdr3600v1/

It also contains the fix for the WPA2 Hack:

Did the upgrade to b33525 of my WDR3600 from a build dated to back to ancient 02/19/2014 with the 30-30-30 procedure and no config backup.

Everything worked out so far. Very nice work! Very Happy

Upgraded from a truly ancient (March, 2013) build to version 33525; this is now running on a v1 TL WDR3600. Looks to be operating perfectly. Thanks, all. This thread was helpful.

I upgraded from a 2016 build to b33525 yesterday. Everything is working fine except the OpenVPN server.

EDIT: This is now resolved after re-generating keys with latest OpenVPN application.

This is the error I see in the logs:

New openSSL will not validate certs unless generated using SHA.
Your ovpn server error is consistent with old certs made with md5.
You will have to generate new keys for your ovpn server & clients.

Download openvpn-install-2.4.4-I601.exe from here -
https://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/downloads.html
When you install be sure to check the box to include Easy RSA management scrips.
Build your server keys and however many client keys you need and store in a safe place.
You can then uninstall the openvpn mess from your windowsy computer if you don't need it.... Cool

Thank you mrjcd.
I was thinking in the same lines, in fact, I have got the latest OpenVPN client
(with easy-rsa tools) installed in the PC. Need to re-generate the keys and
certificates and try it.

EDIT: I just want to confirm that after regenerating the keys with latest
OpenVPN application for Windows, DD-WRT OpenVPN server is working like a
charm. Smile

Did you check the page for the 5GHz settings? Maybe it got disabled after the flash.

Not for the LED, but is the service itself disabled?
