|
Hello, I would really appreciate some advice. The image attached shows a home network. Recently because of network congestion I divided the network up and created two vlans. The router inuse is a netgear Nighthawk R7800 running Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r33010M kongat (08/09/17). I created two virtual interfaces NH_GAME and NH_MOBILE all work well so far. The two Xboxes need to connect to the SwitchBelkin (I could replace this with a Netgear GS108ev3 if it would be of any use) with cat5 as the wireless cards inside them are busted. I need them to have an address in the same scope as Vlan1 BUT when connected to the switch they receive an address from the lan dhcp-option scope. I have tried to set a static lease ROUTER DDWRT INTERFACE 》SERVICES 》STATIC LEASES on the router in the Vlan1 address range but it at gets overruled with a lan dhcp address. When I manually assign a static ip on the xbox itself I receive a message telling me I can't do that. Any ideas on how to achieve my objective folks ?
Thanks for reading
John

1. your image is too big and it will be removed by the mods, so either you decrease size of it or remove it
2. when you need help you start with router model and current build running....
3. I think you confuse Vlan with Wi-Fi Guest Network, both things totally different
4. If you do not provide the correct details the level of help will fall down dramatically.....
5. look here: https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/techref/swconfig
https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/uci/network/switch

6. generally if you want to separate the guest network you have to give it a separate DHCP and create iptables routes/rules for it...
