What is the difference between the two files on the latest build? Not sure which one I need?

If you have a wzr-600dhp then use the file labeled wzr-600dhp. In you have a wzr-600dhp2 you'd use the other file.

Hi. I know this is an old thread but with the current CRACK thing doing the rounds I wanted to update my router. I found that the wzr-600dhp has a 2017 firmware and the wzr-600dhp2 has had NO update since its first release?

This makes me wonder. Have they not updated the dhp2 firmware because the dhp firmware will work?

Hmmm, good point. I was going to flash it but maybe should hold off.

I put the 10-17-2017 build onto my WZR-600DHP2 as a mitigation for the WPA2 KRACK thing but I found that the WAN bandwidth of the router now drops from the max my cablemodem will do of 70 Mbps down to 10 Mbps. With that firmware, the router will not go faster than 10 Mbps on the WAN. Not good.

I noticed this with several other older releases to and it seems the only release that will give me max WAN speed is the very ancient v24sp2r24461.

Anybody know what's up with that?

This is still a nice router and I make use of the VLAN and virtual network on WiFi stuff that DD-WRT offers so I'm beyond what factory firmware can offer.

Anybody still working on -600DHP2 firmware?

A friend noticed that a release came out on 10-20-2017, three days after the one I had tested on 10-17. I just installed this 10-20 release on my WZR-600DHP2 a while ago and I can confirm that the 10Mbps WAN to LAN cap is fixed! I am now seeing the expected 70 Mbps WAN to LAN rate that I expect.

Thank you to someone if they indeed fixed this per my posting the other day. That is awesome and much appreciated!

Chris
