Hi there,

I'm the (un)lucky new owner of a WRT32X. I wanted to buy the WRT3200ACM but the reseller offered me this "upgrade" for free. Well, why not.

The problem is the UI is totally empty. I mean, it's good for gamers who just want to play COD and don't want to spend time with their router config I guess. I can't even filter my wifi with MAC addresses. I was also happy with the VPN server feature on the WRP3200ACM but it's definitely missing on this one.

I was wondering if there is an alternative web UI or if I could install the WRT3200ACM firmware.

Would you have some info about that?

Thanks Smile

Thank you for your link.

I've done a 30-30-30 reset then I went to the web admin to upload the dd-wrt firmware but it keeps saying Firmware upload failed.

I can't find any doc about the WRT32X. Should I try TFTP?

30-30-30 reset is a 'no no'.
Did you read the forum sticky?

Using a cable (not wifi)?

I think something needs to be fixed to flash to ddwrt from the Linksys stock. The problem is I don’t think the developers have that model.

Ah OK never knew that.
Maybe @spyesx can see if he can return it and go for his original choice of a WRT3200ACM?

I have the 32x and the only thing I like about it is the stock firmware is based on openwrt which is a big change from the previous editions of this router. But I still would love ddwrt.

Hello everyone,

@flakie I use a cable yes. I actually did the normal reset and then the 30-30-30 reset after that. Just to see if there is a difference.

Well, it looks like I'll have to return it instead. It works well though. If you need a plug and play router for noobs it's perfect Smile It's pretty expensive for a plug and play though.
