Hi. I recently flashed DD-WRT v3.0-r33435M (10/08/17) on my Netgear R6900P router using the guide at the bottom of this post. It works well, but there's no 5Ghz available. Only 2.4Ghz (see attachment). I already tried resetting dd-wrt to the factory defaults and it didn't work. Does anyone have any other suggestions? This is my 1st time flashing a router and I'm a bit of a noob

The r6900p is not the same as the r6900. Likely ruined your router.
It's not advised to do it but you should have used the boardid of the r7000p and tried the firmware kong released for the r7000p.

Thank for the response. Can I still try doing that or should I just flash the stock and return it back to Costco?

edit: just found this thread. Can I convert back to the original boardid or nah?

You should try to convert it back to the boardid for the r6900p and flash the netgear firmware for it to see if the 5ghz comes back. If it does, try this build http://desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-Arm/dd-wrt.K3_R7000P.chk

I tried converting it to the boardid from the reddit thread. It didn't work, unless I did something wrong here.

DISREGARD

that's not the right boardid.

R6900 Board ID: U12H270T11_NETGEAR

right from the reddit post.

It also states that the 6900P and the 7000P builds from Netgear are identical...so the 7000P build from dd-wrt "should" work as well.

He needs to burn the boardid for the r6900p or the r7000p not the r6900.

I DM'd the Reddit guys and 1 confirmed that it was the correct board id.

What happens if I flash the netgear fw and THEN try to re-change the board id?
