Posted: Mon Oct 16, 2017 12:31 Post subject: Upgrade
I have tried to upgrade most of the Atheros routers in my signature from 33215/33413 to 33492.
The following upgraded fine:
TP-Link Archer C7 v2 x2
TP-Link WDR3600v1
D-Link DIR-825 B1
Bricked and had to recover via serial/TFTP
D-Link DIR-615 e3 x2
D-Link DIR-862L A1 - Any help on how to recover please PM me, I can't open the case to connect serial, D-link recovery room does not upload the firmware.
The rest in my signature I have not upgraded because they are currently not in use.
@Thanatosgnu I am using 33492 on my WDR3600v1, which is very similar hardware to the WDR4300 that you have. 33215 is also very stable. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

Some dd-wrt wiki pages are up to date, others are not. PM me if you find an old one.

I also have this problem. Will this be fixed in a future release so I don't have to go with these ninja tricks?
hoping to bypass those ninja tricks too. haha.. well I guess we need to do these just for the moment to boot out of that 33375. had an argument last night with my gf because she tought I'm watching p**n. :/
Will try it later this night and feedback about what happened. Thanks for the help.

Not an error, but issue. Prior to this install, my download speed was 80mb/s. After, my download speed increased with this installation of dd-wrt from 80mb/s to 250mb/s. I noticed that SFE was enabled. When I disabled, my speed dropped back down to 80mb/s.
Can someone answer why? _________________ Netgear R7800: DD-WRT v3.0-r47822 std (12/09/21)

it also interferes with some other things in dd-wrt.
Google is your best option for such things
So if SFE disabled, is there anyway to get my speed back to 250mb/s? _________________ Netgear R7800: DD-WRT v3.0-r47822 std (12/09/21)

Probably no.
I'm not familiar with that router so can't say for sure.
Leave SFE enabled.
If you use QOS SFE will be disabled automatically... even if it still shows as enabled in the GUI.
If you use ovpn client policy based routing SFE will conflict with it so you must disable.
other that that leave it on if you want your full ISP connection speed...
or
buy a better router like the EA8500 that will do that speed without SFE
edit: your 600Mhz processor ... probably only do 'bout 80 across the WAN with ddwrt. Tis all software NAT so yeah you should run with SFE on to get your speed.
and shouldn't you be over on the dark side --- da broadcom forums, no???
