WDS with WRT54Gv5 and WRT54Gv8 and different DD-WRT versions

Hello,

I have successfully setup WDS between:

WRT54Gv5 using dd-wrt.v23_micro_generic.bin
WRT54Gv8 using dd-wrt.v24_micro_wrt54gv8.bin

All clients in both HOST-AP and CLIENT-PA are networked and with internet access. Will this setup just work fine or do I have to upgrade the WRT54Gv5 to dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin?

You don't have to upgrade the firmware.

But you might want to consider it.

make sure that you get backups of your working configuration before you start to mess with the newer Firmware, this will just make it easier to roll back in case of a mess up.
