It's been over 8 years sense I've UART/TTL/JTAG/serial into anything.Is there a recommended reading list*... or a how-to?
I'll be doing this with Linux, but I could load Win7/10 (if I have to ) I know that each one is slightly different, but I'm looking for an overview to get started.
I have 8 different, that I got for free. I think most are bricked, but may be dead.

Gee, give me 5-7 business days to write a how-to. Google minicom and whatever Linux distribution you are using. You may have to run it via sudo, but it works. Google the device model and serial recovery. If any of them have a dd-wrt wiki, there may be info there (Google device model dd-wrt wiki). Also, Google "dd-wrt serial recovery", and that will also point you to the main serial wiki.
JTAG is another beast altogether and would likely require Windows, unless you can find a Linux binary somewhere on the internet (I have never looked). One of mine is on NT4, the other on XP. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
