hi,

I have a problem, AdGuard Home blocked many requests from my smartTV, and therefore I blocked the web address on dd-wrt, but in reality it doesn't block the site, AdGuard detects them anyway...

but I wanted to know why dd-wrt doesn't block the domain directly...

I have not had much luck with getting DDWRT to block domains in this fashion. What you can do however is add to your DNSMasq Additional Options this:
Code:

address=/*.BlockedDomain.com/0.0.0.0

This works for me for both tplink smart plugs and yeelights. This basically sends the http request to nowhere.

thanks for your reply, but unfortunately in AdGuard Home “Use DNSMasq” is disabled

However, I see that it is always active... I will try to enter your configuration and I will let you know

Code:
address=/*.aic.service.lgtvcommon.com/0.0.0.0

Access restrictions by URL/Domain only works on http and not https because the s in https means secure Smile

@marcus83 you are using Adguard Home (bloatware IMHO but OK), so let that do the blocking and if that does not work research that.
(You are doing credit to your nickname in the forum though (tinker until it breaks) Wink

yes it works AGH, but I wanted to know if it could be blocked on dd-wrt, mine was a simple question 😏

try changing the 0.0.0.0 to an arbitrary address, such as one on your subnet that doesn't exist, then try again. dnsmasq will always be active on your router, as it does more than just DNS. It's also your dhcp server, but you have the DNS part of it disabled so I doubt this will work.

With that said, I think I would use PiHole instead. Just my opinion.

should I replace 0.0.0.0 with the local address of the smart TV?
