Any success stories for the linksys 350n? Had some problems with RC5 and wanted to hear if this version works before moving up from RC4.
Thanks!
Me too. Seems that trying things on the wrt350n has became scary after RC5. Also, I would love to know if there's a roadmap for the new draft n 2.0 drivers on dd-wrt, or if we would have to wait for a v24sp1 for that.
I run RC5 on my 350n without issues for almost as long as it is available.
Never needed a reboot or have had any issues until now.....
Have not tried RC6 .... yet .... to many issues mentioned .... _________________ WRT54GS v4.0 with DD-WRT v23 SP1

p2dewit: are you running a "stock" rc5 or a eko release? which one? I was using the openvpn RC4 version for the wrt350n, but even connecting to it with a ipw2100 laptop (centrino 802.11b) was inestable and very slow. Sometimes I couldn't even open the router's web administration site because of how slow it was. I had not problem with the same adapter, same platform, connecting against a wrt54gl right next to the wrt350n.

I run the "stock" version of RC5. It is the 2nd release of RC5, the first one had many problems, i think it is the one released nov. the 24th (and i also think this is the latest RC5 still available for download, this although the firmware itself states 11/22/07). _________________ WRT54GS v4.0 with DD-WRT v23 SP1

Ok, I assume we would also have a 2nd release of RC6... DD-wrt has been great on the wrt54gl, I'm still at v23sp1 (it works for me, so don't fix it), but I'm looking for a good fw for the wrt350n, which also linksys seems to have neglected. Seems dd-wrt is still on early days for that hw.

Tried RC6 (12-28-07 STANDARD version) on my WRT350n today. Upgrade went smoothly except the wireless does not seem to work properly. In Wireless-G only mode, channel selector does not work. Sys-status page always shows Channel 1 and clients can't connect no matter what (e.g., changing channels, setting to auto, etc.) 30-30-30 did not do the trick.
Re-flashed RC5 and everything is fine again. (Except on sys-status page, channel shows channel 1 instead of channel 11, which was selected). _________________ E3000 (converted from WRT610NV2)

Tried 12-29-07 RC6-1 STANDARD version released today. Same problem - just can't get the wireless to work. Channel selection seems inaccurate, random, and non-functional at both Mixed and/or G-only modes.
Went back to RC5 - all is normal. _________________ E3000 (converted from WRT610NV2)

Fashed 29 Dec 07 version, seems to be working. Wirless appears to be working.....
What are your settings for Wireless? AP in mixed mode? What channel? What security? _________________ E3000 (converted from WRT610NV2)

I've been having the problem with clients not being able to connect to the AP running RC3/4/5 with both a WRT350N and WRT54Gv2 as the AP (regardless of security settings, channel, etc.). I can't remember if I tried rc1 or rc2, and I always ran VAPs with the betas, so no data there. The only fix I've been able to find is to leave the router in Mixed mode (instead of G only, etc.) and create VAPs. Clients can connect to the VAPs fine (any security settings, any channel), but never the first/main AP/SSID whether there are VAPs or not. _________________ This isn't right...this isn't even close enough to be called wrong.

I was running RC5 stock on my 350n. I had lots of problems when I upgraded to RC6. Some of them, were the same described on this thread.
1) Wireless problems
2) webpage displayed incorrect information
3) LEDs blinking randomly
4) No output to syslog
5) Reset button didn't clear any settings.
6) Clock wouldn't update to ntp time souce.
I had to install the factory firmware, use reset to blank out the settings and then use RC5 again.

Srin-
Thanks for the info. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I think I'll stick to RC5 for a while. RC5 was solid for me, and it was bad judgment on my part to jump the gun on RC6/RC6.1. _________________ E3000 (converted from WRT610NV2)

Bit the bullet. Went from the Linksys firmware to RC5, then to RC6.1. I only used the mini
I had to hard reset after each to get it working, before the reset, the router would respond on the wireless only, and at that it would drop packets (ping show 40-60% loss).
After the reset, works good. (way better than the Linksys heh).
The Channel select doesn't work (currently set to 2, connect on 1). For me it doesn't matter, as either is a good choice.
The N transmission is working well (connecting to a MacBook Pro). Transmitting 5MB/s via ssh. Even while a G (Dell Latitude) was surfing.
Been up solid for 4 hours so far... We will see how it goes.
I had to hard reset after flash..but everything is working now, including wireless.
My settings are:
Mode - AP
Network Mode - BG mixed
Channel - Auto
Sensitivity - 2000 (default value)
Bridged (default value)
I am using WPA2Personal Security.
Everything seems to be fine, however, like I said...it required a hard reset to get it up...I was experiencing some disconnects, but all my computers are online now (4 PCs....one wireless).
