by mod: no support ever for this router

I just bought e dead cheap Netgear WGR614 v7 router and was wondering if it would be possibel to load the Atheros version of dd-wrt onto it ?

According to the Openwrt hardware list it has a Atheros AR2317 chip and 4MB of flash and 16MB of RAM.

I can see that some AR2318 routers has succesfully been flashed but is 2317 also supported. And does anyone have an idea how to flash the thing.

Thanks in advance.

maye BS can answer this....hes the man for the port.

the thing i know is that redboot must be running to support ddwrt. but that is sometines difficult to handle....depends on the bootloader that is installed on your device.

I guess it will be easier to find users who are willing to contribute to donate one for your team.
Sending one router from my country would be probably more expensive then just contribute for a new version

Do you have any donation channel?

I will try to find users who have this router, to see if we can find a small group to give you funds to acquire this model,it is a cheap model, so I dont think it will very difficult to find people who are willing to pay 5 dollars each.

I will work on this.

Cheers

I found the donation link and already donated 5 Euros
If I find 7 more users, I think it will be easier to buy a brand new v7 model.
If I dont find, I hope my contibution will help your efforts to maintain this site up and running.

no one ever contacted me right now. i hope just that this device is flashable without the serial console. netgear does alot of firmware encryption tricks normally
