I seem NOT to be able to upload a large firewall rule to the router. The web page keeps getting "Connection Reset"
I am using the script generator that was linked in previous postings.
This is through BOTH IE6 and Firefox.
Any suggestions?
What is the directory that it is in? Maybe I can telnet and place it there?

Thanks

I can confirm that scripts generated by "WRT54 Script Generator 1.02" tool linked here do not work on DD-WRT v24 or v24sp1 on standard 4mb image.

There are following problems in generated script:
a) it is using command "modprobe" which is not present on DD-WRT standard. Therefore some kernel modules are not loaded and most of the next commands fail. Need to be replaced to "insmod".
b) DD-WRT iptables kernel support have "iprange" feature disabled (any iptables command trying to use "-m iprange" fails). Therefore rules which use ip ranges are not working without modifications. This can be workarounded by replacing ip ranges to subnet masks, i.e.:
-m iprange --dst-range 192.168.1.1-192.168.1.254
should be replaced with:
-d 192.168.1.0/24
("-m iprange --src-range" should be replaced with subnet "-s" option).

When creating and testing rules in script generator I was using IP and IP range addressing only therefore there can be other problems. After modifying my scripts with listed fixes I finally was able to feel bandwidth limiting to kick in. Have minimal lag in games with p2p software running in the network Smile.

Thanks forester for your valuable information.

However, I was trying MAC filtering in std firmware generated by Script generator, but MAC filtering does not work. Any idea how to fix it?
