Avila 2348-4 light kann mini-pci ASUS WL-120g nicht finden

Hi zusammen habe heute mein Avila GW2348-4 light bekommen
und versucht die mini-pci Karte aus meinem ASUS WL-500G
Premium Router, im GW-Board zum laufen zubekommen...is aber leider nicht, darum der Post.

Kann mir evtl. jemand sagen warum es nicht gehen könnte-ist doch ne Broadcom Karte.
Karten Typ = ASUS WL-120g

tja haettest du dich ein wenig informiert wuesstest du bestimmt das nur atheros karten funktionieren.
also andere karte rein und gut.....und nur weil ich weiss das die frage bestimmt bald kommt....wds wird mit broadcomgeraeten nicht funktionieren

da die avila boards eher im professionelle bereich angesiedelt sind und auch die treiber wesentlich mehr möglichkeiten bieten, wird auf derartigen routern keine wohnzimmer wireless karte unterstützt. in sachen atheros chipsätzen gibt es außerdem eine sehr breite auswahl an produkten. von billig bis teuer. (natürlich ist die qualität mit dem preis direkt verbunden)

Vielen Dank für die Hilfe...und sorry für die überflüssige Frage...hatte es dann nach ein paar searches auch gefunden.
Hab mir jetzt ne ALFA mini PCI AWPCI085H, a/b/g, 500mW zugelegt.
Läuft auch ganz gut nun hab ich ne Frage zur TX Power. Auf dem Board läuft jetzt "DD-WRT v24 RC-7 (04/24/08) std - build 9433M" und durch die Regulatory Domain komm ich laut "iwlist ath0 tx" nicht höher als 19dbm

Maximum Power: 79 mW
root@DD-WRT:~# iwlist ath0 tx
ath0 8 available transmit-powers :
0 dBm (1 mW)
7 dBm (5 mW)
9 dBm (7 mW)
11 dBm (12 mW)
13 dBm (19 mW)
15 dBm (31 mW)
17 dBm (50 mW)
19 dBm (79 mW)
Current Tx-Power:19 dBm (79 mW)


Habe auch schon einige andere Posts dazu gelesen komm aber nicht ganz draus. In einer hieß es das man mit "United States" mehr Leistung fahren kann was aber laut iwlist ath0 tx nicht so aussieht.

die antwort ist relativ einfach. die karte addiert intern nochmal leistung drauf ohne das das dem system reportet wird. das ist auch bei ubiquiti so. die ubiquiti karten strahlen beispielsweise 10 db mehr ab als reportet wird.

die karte hat ein 10dbi offset, einfach 10dbi zur angezeigten leistung dazuaddieren.

seid einer woche gibts auch neue karten von alfa, die kein offset mehr haben und unter linux die sendeleistung korrekt anzeigen.

was für madwifi eher von nachteil ist da keine regulatory domain dies unterstützt und auch bei dd-wrt müßte man superchannel bei 802.11g aktivieren. unter 802.11a ist es da weniger ein problem
