I have a firebox III (x700), 128mb ram, 32mb flash drive. 1 serial port, 3x 10/100 ports. There is a pci slot, no pcmcia slots though.
I'm still trying to figure out how to get into the serial port. Is it wired so that a standard serial cross-over cable will work? What are the default setting for the port (speed, data-stop-parity bits, flow control).

Disarm
Red light indicates the Firebox detected an error,
shut down its interfaces, and will not forward any

Armed

Sys A

a doubling of the load average. The first light represents a load average of 0.15. The most

I'm thinking of taking the plunge and installing DD-WRT on my Watchguard II
I have some concerns though...
1) Can i revert back to the Watchguard image? Is there any way to backup? Or is DD-WRT running exclusively from CF card, thus not overwriting the default software?
2) Is there a way to install a WLAN card so as to have WiFi as well? If yes, what are compatible cards, if any?
3) In the wiki, there is a line that says "Make sure you change the CMOS jumper next to the RTC battery (JP13) from the original position." However, i couldn't see any mention on what step to set the jumper on that position.
My bad, you can set the jumper right after you install the CF card. I don't know what position that is to be honest with you, there is no indication for pin 1. I know that, in order to retain the CMOS settings, it needs to be moved from what it was set at the factory, so that it will boot from the new Master drive and not the slave. The original software is not deleted by this, unless you move jumper #7. The onboard flash will show as an 8MB slave drive. For the WiFi card, I have not had any luck using PCMCIA, because of an IRQ problem with my router. A PCI card will do the job though, just route an external antenna outside the router.
I will update the Wiki accordingly when I get home, thank you for pointing that out.

Just a quick update on my end... I'm still working with Pyramid linux (not ddwrt) but I figured that maybe people would be interested anyway.
I was playing with the firebox last night and got my atheros based wifi nic working with great ease. I'm not able to get any of the on board nics working yet but I'm going to start fooling around adding kernel modules soon to attempt to get that up and running. I've also got another firebox that someone is willing to give me, so I may indeed end up sticking ddwrt on there just to try things out.
