Hello

The Belkin N1 vision ( F5D8232 ) sources and toolchain are available at http://www.belkin.com/uk/support/article/?lid=enu&pid=F5D8232uk4&aid=10243&scid=0.

I was able to compile a firmware from the original sources and run it, thus adding new functions like telnetd for instance.

Now, I am working on making dd-wrt available on it and being able to use the lcd screen.

If you are ready to help, please write to m4n at amilto.com.

By the way, I must tell you that there is an hidden page in Belkin's original firmware that let's you take control of your box : http://192.168.2.1/wukongjiuwo.html

Long live DD-WRT

Interesting. Do you mean a backdoor, where you control the router without actually logging in?

Yes, it has a backdoor by default where you can type shell commands.

It uses an Atheros AR7141 processor, with 16 MB of RAM, 8 MB of flash and Vitesse 7385 gigabit switch.

More facts about the hardware are available here :

the AR7141 is supproted by us cause the ubiquiti litestationx uses the same.
so we only have to check if the switch is supported and then BS can get it work

which bootloader is running?

Thats great news. I have been waiting for this to happen!!

If i can be of any help i would be more than willing, my programming skills are fairly limited. But i am fairly computer literate and have a reasonable knowledge of Linux. Oh and a N1 Vision!!

Can't wait for this to happen. It's a great looking router, but it is a bit limited on the feature front!!

Cheers

Sash, the bootloader is redboot.
I was able to do my own firmware from the sources released by Belkin and had some missing features. I do not had time to port dd-wrt. Any help is welcome.

I can give remote access to a belkin N1 shell if needed.

Best regards,

I have just updated the Wiki will all the information i have. I am unsure about the serial and JTAG port status so i have left those alone.

How would i go about finding the default redboot IP, also extracting the reboot cfg. I haven't really messed about with this kind of hardware before, but i am sure if you pointed me in the right direction i could extract what you needed.

I am also fairly good with a soldiering iron should that be needed.

Cheers

Sash, What is the quickest way to discover the redboot IP and reveal the redboot.cfg?

@topic starter

hey can you help me out? i just bought a belkin n1 vision (FD8232) wireless router and have been having problems with online game like cabal online, world of warcraft etc..

this was my post on another forum but no one could help me.. now that i found this thread, i was thinking if il be able to disable the router's automatic SNTP..

Hi to all,

just recently bought a Belkin N1 Vision (FD8232) wireless router, when i'm playing online games like Cabal Online and World of Warcraft, my connection to the games drops and i instantly get disconnected but i can log back in to the game quickly.

the connection drops on a 2-hour interval, i searched the routersetup page and found the culprit under the security log of the router.

here are the entries under the log:
Sun 2008-06-29 19:14:41 - Router get real time with time-zone -8
Sun 2008-06-29 19:21:41 192.168.3.15 00:13:8F:E8:40:4B Request
Sun 2008-06-29 19:22:12 192.168.3.32 00:16:36:31:DD:EB Request
Sun 2008-06-29 19:28:05 192.168.3.34 00:1E:3A:8E:A3:0A Request
Sun 2008-06-29 19:28:21 192.168.3.34 00:1E:3A:8E:A3:0A Request
Sun 2008-06-29 21:14:49 - Router get real time with time-zone -8

it has something to do with the router's SNTP.. as you can see, it is exactly 2 hours and my connection to the game disconnects every time the router gets real time.

i tried to change different timezones but it still disconnects.

the only option left for me to fix this is to disable the router's SNTP but the problem is there is no option to disable it..

please help me out here.. thanks a lot!

You can do whatever you want from the http://192.168.2.1/wukongjiuwo.html hidden admin page like killing sntp.
