Why not adding all the stuff to the wiki?
There is a FAQ in the WiKi: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Index:FAQ

Should be easier to maintain since everyone can edit the page, so wrong or obsolete information can be changed even if the original poster has left the community...

All of this stuff IS in the Wiki, but we need a forum FAQ. The idea of editing to correct is valuable, but very few people read the wiki....they post here. It is also difficult to really determine the importance of some of the information in the wiki.

The wiki is not user friendly. If you are looking for something it is very hard to determine which of the eight or so sections it is in. Where, for example, do you look for to find info on "optware"?

I am not after making this a new WIKI. I want a place to refer, particularly newbies too, that addresses common, over and over again issues.

Maybe this thread should be made sticky and there must be some way to inform the users that there is indeed a wiki.
That seems to be the biggest problem, people don't know there is one.

Good info, and I like your sense of urgency.

Unfortunately this will probably be on page 2 by tomorrow and we'll be back to square one...

Just what we need, the 35th thread to be stuck. Who is a mod around here? Can the sticky threads be cleaned up? Do we REALLY need half of the front page taken up with them?

lol

Although this really is great sticky material, you do make a good point. Noone would ever see it as a sticky because it blends in with the others. Perhaps is better to let it float around in the middle after all Wink

True there, the stickies need to be cleaned up for a bit. But it looks like the mods are to busy or something

This means doing the 30-30-30 reset. To do a 30-30-30 reset you must push the reset button with your router powered on. Hold it for 30 seconds with the router powered on. STILL holding it, pull the power cord for 30 seconds. Still holding it, plug the router back in. You will have held the button for a full 90 seconds without releasing it.

Don't cut corners.

"Don't cut corners" ===> Bullshit

Nothing is being done when the router is not plugged in and the reset is pressed. The reset button only works when the router is running. You are merely parotting what others have said.

Should I also stand on my head whilst licking a popsickle?

Many people do not bother to clear the nvram at all because they don't SEE the need. That is what I meant by don't cut corners. Follow the steps in the wiki if you don't know what you are doing.

What method of clearing the nvram do you suggest?
