Hi,
as we did announce on the website we did enable the DD-WRT router database preview. The data is not as complete as we would like it to be, yet but we think that it can help a lot of people to find out if there router is supported much easier and help them to locate the related files.
From the Poll we did enable we know that some guys are experience problems or don't like it. Unfortunatly none of them did give feedback, so we do create this forum topic to discuss any issues.
For the Belkin F5D7230-4 v2000, v2000de the database shows that micro generic is the correct build. This router requires serial flash builds otherwise it will not boot after flashing. The special instructions link explains this, but the builds in the database appear to be incorrect.

Also, this router will support serial flash micro plus builds but they are not listed in the database.

It's pretty good but I still will really dig around before I take the info for any particular router to be the gospel _________________ Shad

Thanks for that feedback. We are currently checking all routers for the correct files and instructions, to every detailed comment is helping us a lot.

Yes, I see. First priority was providing the stable release release files (v24 SP1). Next is adding the Beta-Version files (v24 SP2). Because we are reviewing all informations for correctness that can take 1 or 2 weeks.

Nice job on the interactive database. Great functionality and it is straight-forward to use.
Just a couple of model specific comments. For the Linksys WRT610N the link to the test version of the firmware takes you to the first page of a 'decending date' look at the forum topic. I think the default for the forum is date ascending (ie .. new on last page). Would there be a way to point right at the firmware on page 32 of an ascending list?
For the AIR-LINK AR430W, the information points the user to the d-link 300 files. I know that the units are 'close' or perhaps even clones, but there is actually an official AR430W release that sets all the hardware identity and status information correctly.
Lookups for Buffalo's WHR125 and for the WRT54's and WRT310 look great.

The new catalog has a generic build as the proper build for Netgear WNR834bv2, but you need to have the NEWD builds from EKO in order to work. The generic build can brick you router.

OK i have adjust this. Thank you very much for your response.
The database imho works awesome and is a great addition to the somewhat confusing download area (although this should be available in the future as well). I've tested it with the fonera builds as this is my field of interest and I'd like to suggest the following (not sure if that applies to other supported models as well)...
What about introducing links to the latest devel versions along with the stable download links? I mean besides linking v24-sp1 for the fonera, it would be great to have a link to the latest v24-presp2 build as well - maybe as stable and unstable.
What do you think about it? _________________ 7x La Fonera 2100, 1x NanoStation2 Loco

+1
Also I would like to search the database for the best hardware to buy! Ex: "8mb flash 32 mb ram" or simular.
This would greatly help in deciding which new router to buy.
Or maybe choose which feature-set of dd-wrt I want to run, and show a list of best supported hardware.
I noticed that you link to the ASUS Recovery utility for all of the Asus routers. However, you do not have links to the dd-wrt.v24_mini_asus.trx file. The utility will only accept files in .trx or .img format. The .bin files can only be used after dd-wrt is installed.

Ok this should match now.
