I want guests that come into my store to be able to get on my public wifi network however when they open up their laptops and connect to my network they get forwarded to a page that will challenge them for a username and password. Once they pass that authentication they can get on the net.

Does DD-WRT have a built in 'something or other' to do this?

Mr. Digler:

Depending on your router's memory capacity you can install one of the firmware builds that offer "HotSpot" under the Services tab.

There are several choices under this tab for setting up your own HotSpot. I have always wanted to configure this for my home but never have the time to put all the pieces together.

I suggest you read the "Peacock Thread" sticky here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=39529

Also spend some time reading the Wiki articles about setting up your HotSpot.

For the Chillispot tutorial go here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Chillispot

You may want to read up on NoCatSplash here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/NoCatSplash

I am not aware of any authentication that can be done by the router itself.
