UnBrick your Wrt300n v1.0/1.1

Step By Stp Jtaging By Radioman193

Download the Factory Firmware for your router.

download this jtag.rar

ALL the files you Will need are in it All But the Factory firmware all one folder just to keep things SIMPLE.
these files are:

LOADDRV.EXE
GIVEIO.SYS
tftp2.exe
jtag.exe
dd-wrt .v24 micro generic.bin

unrar it
and then goto the jtag folder you shuld see all the above files.

Now lets do it

#1 copy the GIVEIO.SYS file to c:\windows\system32
then run the LOADDRV and in the box put :
c:\windows\system32\GIVEIO.SYS
then i hit the install button

#2 reboot the Pc

#3 after the reboot rerun the LOADDRV and in the box put :
c:\windows\system32\GIVEIO.SYS
and hit the start button

#4 now open a dos window
#5 in this window change to the jtag directory the one your jtag file is in

#6 type jtag -backup:cfe
this will take a minute or two...............

#7 type jtag -erase:nvram /noreset / noemw
#8 type jtag -erase:kernel /noreset /noemw
when this is done close the dos window

#9 unplug the routers power then plug it back in

#10 now you need to go to Control Panel then Network
Connections rightclick on your Local Area Connection
click on Properties in this dialog box double click
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
and in this dialog box select
Use the following IP address
and in box put 192.168.1.10
and in Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
now hit the OK

#11 plug your network cable in to port 1 of your router and into your netwok card on your pc.

#12 run tftp2.exe in this dialog box
for server enter this 192.168.1.1
and for password leve blank
and for file would be the path to the file Your Routers Factory Firmware
"do this 2 times just to make shure."

wait for it to complete then 3 more minutes just to be safe....................

#13 Unplug the router then plug it back in letting it bootup completely.

Now you have your router back with its factory firmware on it..

Now you know what to do from here .

if you wat to make your own jtag cable this will help.
Cool

Why not just post it in the existing jtag sticky?

it can stay here for a short then
if it dont get no remarks or replys ill just let it go to the trash.

and the file was not uploaded to dd-wrt before cause it was taken way to long to upload.
it but now its on your server.

and it is the "Normal" jtag file just was renamed to keep it simple and the other files were added to it
so you dont need to keep looking and downloading files "One click" and you got what ya need and your ready to go.
Cool

So now with the "thread noise" people will think this will not work on the Wrt300n's
and be just as confused as looking in the "other" Places. Confused

So:

If you have a Wrt300n This WILL work for you.

Cool

My suggestion:

Make sure that on the V1.1, there is no confusion on the jtag header. JP1 is the jtag header (micro header) but everyone will thing JP3 is the jtag header.

if you set your pc to 192.168.1.1 then you will not be able to tftp to the router at 192.168.1.1 because they both will have the same ip address.
