Internet DNS server behind dd-wrt

How do I run a internet DNS server behind dd-wrt? I have this running now using a stock linksys wrt54g just by passing the ports thru. I could not get it to work using dd-wrt by just opening the ports.

It should work the same. Either you have a bad build of DD-WRT or your configuraions are errored.
