They are not pins, just 6 little copper pads in the rolls on the back (about 1/16 of an inches diameter). you need to add 4 4.7k pull up resistor to RP1 and 0.1k to R23. I got my running with latest ddwrt, but like "myacct" said, there are couple problems. a) WAN and LAN port 4 need to swap in vlan tab. b) The reset button did not work, I use gpio poll x to test but none of poll test responds all show 01 on press or not. BS and Sash had any other idea? Thank

I believe these are the 6 pads you are talking about:

And RP1/R23:

yes they are the jtag ports, there are been label out. To work around WAN and LAN port #4, i swap wan & lan4 in vlans tab. so i can keep the plug in ports layout the same. It work well with Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS V5 CFE bin and micro bin build 13064 but still need to finger out the reset button. with out upgrade the flash to 2M the wgr614v6 is useless with ddwrt firmware.

Once I find the resistors that I need I will dump the wholeflash and upload it.

well, to enable the reset button, some flying wire need to be added between the push button pad and ones special via on the top of BCM5352, here is a picture

Hi philoman, this mod is working! Good job and thanks. I am kind of curious!! Do I need to cut the original reset path to CPU? Because you are showing shorted 2 CPU pins together with put add resistance of some kind between them. (Per haft they are both pins input signal?) Can you post pins lay out for this CPU. I find a short distance for this flying wire. look at you picture to the right, where R47 is, the path for the original reset is right on top of R74.

How can I correct the WAN and LAN port 4 swap?? Or show me to the right path! There are lots developers out there like BS, EKO, and other any body help?

Currently I put 4mb flash and I am thinking to replace ram from 8mb to 16mb.
Would anyone tell me how to update the firmware in the future? When I try to update firmware via web I get bricked router a lot of time. I use micro firmware form wgrt54g v5. Happily I have possibilities to remove and reprogram flash chip a lot of time Smile
I remember I have updated router via web successfully only twice.
Should I use some special procedures to update the router. I mean reset router to default before updating etc.

Hi again,
WGR614v6 with 16mb ram and 4mb rom works properly as a WRT54GL v1 ! Currently I use vpn firmware. The most important thing whilst updating is to reset the router to default and use Internet Explorer. I think that firefox made my router bricked

The latest news
I put 32mb ram by accident into WGR614v6. Only 16mb ram was visible . When you enter by telnet console following commands you will get full 32mb!

nvram set sdram_init=0x000a
nvram set nvram_ncdl=0
nvram commit
reboot

Above setting will be restored to default after router reset (to default of course)

If you want to make those changes default you have to edit cfe. I have made it on fly

Here you have how to backup cfe via web and write via winscp/telnet. Winscp should use scp file protocol

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/CFE_backup

Here you have console cfe editor
http://www.bitsum.com/files/imgtool_nvram.zip

Now, I am looking for 29lv640 to be able to use mega firmware Smile
