Hi,

I have DDWRT on a RT-N16 used as the gateway (192.168.1.1) and DDWRT on a WL-500gP used as a switch (192.168.1.2).

I setup port forwarding on the RT-N16 for port 9999 to forward to port 9999 on the WL-500gP for Web Access. In the GL-500gP GUI I set the Web access port to 9999.

Accessing the GUI thru the web to the WL-500gP does not work (https://mysite.com:9999). I am guessing it really isn't web access anymore as its not being used as the Gateway. Is there a way around this? I can puTTY to either machine via the web.

Thanks,
Rich

You need to set the 2nd router's gateway since it does not automatically get one from WAN settings which are disabled. The wireless access point wiki guide explains everything else you need to configure for it.

phuzi0n,

Thanks for quik reply.

From the wiki link you sent I gather it needs to be a wired connection to the router which it can NOT be. I made the changes and rebooted it without success.

Most of my values were the same as what I already had except for the firewall responses and the gateway/router option.

You said you were using it as a switch which to me implies that it's hard wired as a WAP. Does this mean you're actually using Client Bridge mode, or what? What build are you using on each router?

phuzi0n,

Sorry I mistyped. I believe I set it up as a repeater bridge. I have a usb hdd connected to it backing up other devices using rsync.

Post again when you've checked the wireless mode and the firmware version.

Try changing the port forward on the rt-n16 to be from 9999 to port 80 for 192.168.1.2.

Hi,

As you suggested, I changed port 9999 to forward to port 80 on the wl-500gP (192.168.1.2) and I can now access the GUI from the net.
