Hi All,
I've had nothing but success in flashing my WHR-G300N (v1) routers. I recently purchased another WHR-G300N which is a v2. I see in the wiki that It is supported, and I tried flashing the router with Tftpd and the supported firmware. Tftpd simply won't serve the firmware up to the router.
To verify that I was doing everything correctly, I took one of my v1 WHR-G300N routers and flashed it using the exact same firmware and procedure with no problem at all. Any idea as to why I can't flash my V2? Does anybody who has a V2 have any suggestions?
perhaps you should not believe the wiki.if you have looked it up in the database, you will find out that v2 is not supported yet.You should notice the hardware difference between v1 and v2 in the wiki,so they just cannot share the same firmware

OMG, no wonder it wasn't working! Please tell me where I can find this other database, thanks!
You'll have to wait for Brainslayer to make a new build for the v2's.
Hopefully he will support them soon. _________________ Soylent Green Is People !

Netgear Nighthawk R7000 - DD-WRT Build R46220
Linksys EA8500 - OpenWRT IPQ806x Trunk R16375 5.4 Kernel
I just bought a WHR-G300N from Amazon and didn't realise they sent me the v2 version. The user reviews on the amazon site say it's compatible with DD-WRT but this must refer to the v1 unit.
I've tried and failed to use WDS to link to my existing Linksys WAG160N so unless Brainslayer will do a new build for this router I'll have to argue my case with Amazon for a refund.
Does anyone know how likely a DD-WRT build for this router is, whether I should take the chance to wait or try to return it?
I sucessfully flashed whr-g300nv2 last year using the web flash method, i.e. directly from the buffalo interface. I reverted back to buffalo firmware using tftp after experiencing wifi problems.
There is a howto for whr-g300nv2 in the router database.
So far I have been using the 6-14-11 (r17201) brainslayer build with the WHR-G300N V2 and it's very stable. Some features don't work:
-Bridging mode (use the stock firmware for the remote bridge)
-dynDNS config page
-QOS routing
It's been at least 6 months and no reboots required from either the DDWRT base or the stock firmware bridge unit.
Tonight I noticed brainslayer has new 2012 builds up for this router, so someone should test these to see if dynDNS or other features are working again
