Hi,
I recently purchased an unbranded RT2880 based wireless router, and I'm interested in loading DD-WRT firmware on it. From what I've managed to gather online and through some snooping, the router is either a Zowee WL-700G-C or a rip-off. Is there any way to determine the hardware specifications without cracking open the case? So far, I've tried following these steps and it seems to be almost identical hardware, but I can't be sure. Basically what I'm trying to get at is, can I load the Airlink 101 AR670W DD-WRT firmware safely on my router.
Crack open, break open, unscrew open, all used interchangeably and have the same end-result...voiding the warranty.
There's no FCC ID on it, only stickers are MAC and S/N. I did manage to find the wifi certificate, which can be found here. Not sure how much good that's going to do though.

No, there is not enough info about the hardware in your telent log to start with.
There may also be other things apart from hardware that prohibits loading of the AR670W file. _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
Then compare the hardware with the AR670W board,
your log does not tell which LAN switch ic is used neither does it say for sure what radio ic your router has.
Still, that can not guarantee to 100% that it is safe to load the AR670W firmware.
You would also need a serial console connection to the router so you can watch the boot process when trying to load the AR670W firmware.
Ok, so I finally managed to find time to open up my router. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any pics, but I did manage to get the codes on each chip, which I've listed below. I hope this is enough information to know whether it's safe to load the AR670W firmware or not. My wireless performance is deplorable, with a 5:3 ratio of successful:unsuccessful received packets.
Ok, hardware is identical with the AR670W so there is a good chance that it will run the AR670 firmware. _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
It's seems to be the same. I connected via telnet and it has identical info as the OPs.
I have tried to install the dd-wrt AR670W firmware, but I get a "Not a valid firmware" error whenever I try. I tried all the builds (both old and new) from the dd-wrt page for the AR670W.
