I tried the latest version ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/06-30-10-r14684/buffalo_whr_g300nv2/ and it works. found a few of the problems? will be the final version?

I have a WHR-G300N V2 and have downloaded the first of these files, the webflash multi.bin. Can this be uploaded to the router (which currently runs Buffalo firmware) via the Buffalo web interface, or should I use the TFTP method shown here? Do I rename the .bin file .tftp?

As you currently have the Buffalo firmware you should download the buffalo-to-dd-wrt_webflash-MULTI.bin file from http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/down.php?path=downloads%2Fothers%2Feko%2FBrainSlayer-V24-preSP2%2F07-16-10-r14815%2Fbuffalo_whr_g300nv2/

For subsequent updates select the other file (whr-g300nv2-firmware-MULTI.bin)

Use the buffalo web interface to update now. After you are on DD-WRT also use the web interface.

Thanks - all installed and working now. Setup was a bit haphazard as I didn't know how to configure wireless bridge mode, but somehow against the odds it's working. I now have 2 wired clients connected to my primary router wirelessly via the Buffalo.

I'm just wondering, does buffalo_whr_g300nv2 apply to EU version too? I have "G300N v2 EU" and would like some success confirmation before flashing my own (brand new) router.

Thank you!

I have a WHR-G300N V2bought from the U.K. but I do not see it mentions EU on the label. It came with a rather nifty plug which converts between EU standard and U.K. plugs. DD-WRT appears to function fine on it (but my use is limited).

I just got done reading 5 pages for this model and noticed that geziukas also had the Japanese version of this router.

question is, will it work on Japanese model? I read through a bit, but all this is too hard for me to understand.

Please help if you can.

I would have thought that the hardware is the same.

Look at the product label on the router it should say:
WHR-G300N V2

FCC ID: FDI-0910561
IC: 6102A-027

If all matches then I think I would take a chance. Made sure you have a copy of the current firmware so that going back is a possibility.

thank you for the quick reply REPASSAC!

When I get home I will confirm if the above match or not.

Just FYI, on Buffalo USA forum, they say Japanese hardware/firmware is different and Japan product sometimes have stuff that USA/EUR versions do not have despite they are the same model...

Will post when I get home.

I think for any hardware changes they would require a different FCC approval number - can anyone confirm please?

Thank you. After checking the labels I decided to cross my fingers and flash the router.

It went smooth (using webflash), no problems at all.

Thank you!

In this folder (latest build) you will see two files

http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/down.php?path=downloads%2Fothers%2Feko%2FBrainSlayer-V24-preSP2%2F07-16-10-r14815%2Fbuffalo_whr_g300nv2/

The buffalo-to-dd-wrt_webflash-MULTI.bin is for flashing via the Buffalo factory interface.

The second file can be flashed by the DD-WRT interface.

There is no need to use tftp.

I've partially bricked (isn't that like being partially pregnant?) my whr-g300N V2. I tried to load BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/07-16-10-r14815 (WebFlash)with the Buffalo utility and ended up with what appears to be a mostly dead router.

The good news is that it responds to a ping at 192.168.1.1 with constant ttl values of 64. This gives me hope that it can be revived.

I tried the Draytek upgrade utility with the BrainSlayer MULTI version with no luck (constant timeouts).

What's my next step?
