ok brainslayer, eko i'll help you guys fix this wrt610n v1 reboot that is also affecting other versions... i have cfe 16 and eko 14826 big build. noticed that interference migitation mode has been disabled on both wirelesses
Hi joey2talk2,
What's odd is that I have the same model/version of WRT610 (v1, .cfe 16) and I haven't had any reboot issues since last January. I run for months without reboot, and then only reboot when I install a new version of DD-WRT (about once every two months on average).
Check my info and links below to see my settings - they're all pretty routine (i.e. no overclocking), with the exception of a slightly higher power setting.
Have you considered it might actually be a hardware issue with your unit, perhaps flakey hardware which reboots if it gets too warm, and that DD-WRT might be making it run warmer than stock firmware? Just a thought. Make sure your unit is well ventilated. Maybe as a test you could run a fan on it for a few days to see if that affects whether or not it reboots.

I have v1 device with latest Linksys firmware and have problem connection to Windows 2003 server on WAN port from Wifi or LAN port. This problem was with FW I tested till now. I'm not able to finish copyiing larger files (like ISO CD) over windows network in Windows Explorer or Total Commander.
Also connection sometimes freezes for a while.
I never had similar problems with WRT54GSv4 or Tenda W306R with original or dd-wrt firmware.
Do you think that using dd-wrt firmware will solve this issue?
I tried to disable all unwanted features like Upnp, Home defender etc. in Linksys web setup and set channel and mode from Auto to 20MHz and mixed mode on both 2.4 and 5 GHz if's.
I'm running a WRT610n V1 and til Build 14536 everything went fine (running K26-Builds). I upgraded to 14848 and since then I have seen some strange behaviour. I have a KonicaMinolta 1690MF connected on LAN 4. I have to first power on the printer and then the router. Otherwise the printer will not connect. It worked without problems on earlier builds. Same behaviour with my cell phone (O2 XDA Guide).
Both do not get IP via DHCP, they have static IP. DHCP didn't help.
I tried downgrading from 14853 to 14536 but even after hard-reset (30/30/30-method) problem persists. Now I'm running 14848 cause W-LAN seems to connect now without having to enabling WLAN on cell phone first and then powering on the router. But the problem with printer is still there.
Despite of these small problems: Thank you guys, you do an amazing job!

Hi all,
After hundreds of posts I realize this is getting redundant, but I'd like to request another settings/config-file-sharing from those on the board with reliable/stable 610n's.
I have a v2 running 14144, and wl1 access reboots the router within minutes, no matter what I do. I'd like to start fresh working from the recommendations of those who've seen reliability from their configs.
I have tried both Scott Owen's settings for his v1 and owagner's, but that has not helped at all. Plus they are both fairly old posts. I realize I'm in over my head here and would rather get things working right than just go buy an apple airport, but it's getting close to that :)

Has anybody tried installing the "DD-WRT Kong Mod - USB/FTP/SAMBA3/MINIDLNA" version of DDWRT?
It is supposed to be optimised for performance and includes some useful features such as samba and mediaserver. I am just not sure if the 610n V2 is supported by this firmware...
But I have to revoke what I wrote. Seems that problem is still there. From time to time (every 3rd to 4th reboot) cpu usage of the router is slowly increasing towards 100%, and from 80% up problem occurs.
Before the flashing of those builds I did the following:
1.30/30/30-method
2.Revert to original firmware
3. 30/30/30-method
4. Flashing K24-build of same version like K26 i wanted to flash or its predecessor
5. 30/30/30-method
6. upgrade within DD-WRT-GUI to the above mentioned K26-builds
7. 30/30/30-method
8. Minmum config (W-LAN 1. radio BG-mixed, 2. radio N-only 5 GHZ), DHCP enabled, WPA2-Personal AES encryption enabled.
Problem existed with all K26-builds since 14584.
Reverting to original firmware, 30/30/30, flashing 14473 K24, 30/30/30, flashing 14536 K26 solved the problem.
But as I like to use latest firmware (cause of bugfixes, maybe there are some security updates?) I now use K24-build 14929 and everything works fine . (tested about 20 reboots now and cpu usage is staying at about 5 %, sometimes goes up near 20, then again decreasing)
From now on I will simply keep testing K24.
One comment to 14896 and 14684 K26-builds only:
My Clevo W870CU does not connect with 300Mbps at same distance as with other builds. Max 144Mbps is shown on DD-WRT-Infopage. Real W-LAN throughput is about 100-120 Mbit/s with all other versions, with 14896 and 14684 it's only about 60-80Mbps (tested via transfer of one single file: 393,8MB video recorded with Canon S2IS) and with many transfer errors on 14896 and 14684. Checked for interfering signals but nearby W-LAN-routers without result.
Hope this litte piece of information helps on improving.

As you seem to have v1 of WRT610n too, I can recommend going back to v24 builds. Fortunately I have access to another v1 unit and could recinstruct the problem with that unit. K26 is not working in same environment and cpu-usage increases. Downgrading to K24 builds seems to work fine on that unit too, so I think this could be some kind of general fix.
Looking at the screenshot you included, I'm wondering if this isn't just a display error - it shouldn't be possible to get load-averages above 1.00 (100%), should it? Are you over-clocking? _________________ Scott Owen
