Currently, I'm running two RT-N12. One for AP and the other for client bridge.
The firmware version is the 'EKO 14853'
The wireless is in '20 Mhz' bandwidth and N-only mode. (WPA2 personal + AES)
The scenario is
PC1 is connected with LAN on AP
PC2 is connected with LAN on client bridge
I shared some directories on PC2 by using WIN XP file sharing and
I only have around 20Mbps (2.x MB/s) while transferring data from PC2 to PC1.
However, the wirelss rate shown on system info page is no less than 78Mbps
(It is over 100Mbps for most of the time)
I heard that the actual transfer speed should be around half of the wireless rate.
So, I guess I can have 50Mbps (5~6 MB/s) in the scenario but not.

That only holds for G-networks. in N-networks it can be even less.

The speeds seems to be too low (except for a really long distance, like >50m), but i dont know the RT-N12.
For A/B/G throughput was roughly half the link rate. For N spec it's a bit more complicated... On one hand the spec itself is more efficient so the throughput should be ~60% of the link rate (for example a 65mbps link gives ~40mbps throughput), but on the other hand many of Broadcom's CPU's aren't fast enough to handle the throughput and so you hit a throughput ceiling.
I would expect much more throughput with the setup you have but I haven't played with router to router throughput. _________________ Read the forum announcements thoroughly! Be cautious if you're inexperienced.
