Hi,
I'm looking for a travel router that runs dd-wrt. It must be a very small box with wireless and at least two ethernet ports. Ideal would be built in power supply. Something like a WTR54GS, but that is no longer available.
Are those running dd-wrt (maybe under a different brand name)? :

For a thing that is "no longer available", the WTR54GS is remarkably easy to obtain. I've bought three of them inexpensively (two V1 and one V2.1) on eBay within the last two months, and there's a V2.0 on there now, item 260644387088 (closes about five hours from now), as well as another something-or-other that may be a WTR54GS but likely isn't -- the vendor is confused.
I'm not bidding on either one, by the way -- I've filled my needs. _________________ Netgear WNR834Bv2 DD-WRT build 14311 nokaid (Primary)

Yes, it would be nice to have such a portable device that was an "n" router. _________________ Netgear WNR834Bv2 DD-WRT build 14311 nokaid (Primary)

Will it be possible to put DD-WRT on the Sapido unit?
That would be nice, wouldn't it. Anyone know of such a plan? _________________ Netgear WNR834Bv2 DD-WRT build 14311 nokaid (Primary)

You would have to open it up and see what kinda chipset it has.
Yes; but whatever is in there may not be very tasty -- I'd expect it to be rather inSapid. _________________ Netgear WNR834Bv2 DD-WRT build 14311 nokaid (Primary)

Seems to be a genial little device, even with the stock firmware it claims to do a whole lot.
It also comes under different names, but I always came back to Sapido. The RB-1132 has same specs as GR-1102, but latter has 2 USB instead of one. Price difference 15$. The radio is a mini-PCI card, unfortunately seems to be Realtek - not good for dd-wrt.

Correct, realtek has no support with dd-wrt.
Well, Buddee, here's your chance to shine. if you work on it yourself, you ought to be able to reverse that situation once more. After all, your town in Arkansas is named (in German) Turnagain Village. _________________ Netgear WNR834Bv2 DD-WRT build 14311 nokaid (Primary)

just for being nosy: Why is it so difficult to support anything else in dd-wrt? I thought it is just Linux running on the devices. And there are drivers for PCs and laptops for Realtek for Linux. Why can't one just change out the drivers?
How about changing out the mini-pci card for a broadcom?

I'm sure that, after you create the appropriate drivers, they will be easy to change out. Keep working on it, and keep us posted.
Hmmm? What's that? You want someoneelse to develop the drivers? Oh, OK. Whom did you have in mind, and what incentive do you offer? _________________ Netgear WNR834Bv2 DD-WRT build 14311 nokaid (Primary)

Hey, no offense
I have almost no knowledge about Linux. And I just checked out Realtek's site. They don't have wireless drivers
I thought every major manufacturer provides drivers for their hardware and that Unix is equally important as M$ nowadays.
So there are really no drivers out there! wow...
