Guys i've a Aztech HW550-3G Wireless-N Router with the following HW;

Key Chipset Ralink RT3052F Network Processor + WLAN Controller
Memory · 4MB FlashROM
· 32MB SDRAM
Power Requirement · Input Power : 12V @ 1A DC
· Power Consumption : 12 Watt (max)
Wireless Transmit Power · 802.11b (1 antenna) : 18 +/- 1 dBm
· 802.11g (1 antenna) : 17 +/- 1 dBm
· 802.11n (2 antenna) : 17 +/- 1 dBm

I'm not very sure if i could flash it with dd-wrt and still be able to utilise the MobileBroadBand.

On top of that i was wondering if it could actaully combine the MobileBB with WAN network to be shared with the LAN?

MOST of the Ralink 3052 based routers with 4MB / 32MB config should work with DD-WRT

BUT - you need to make sure you have SERIAL access to the router just in case

You also want to have a firmware image from the manufacturer that you can restore
JUST IN CASE DD-WRT does not work on your router and you have to recover

Unless the Devs have a unit in front of them that they can test, its trial & error on your part

DoesItMatter,

I've the original firmwares and stuffs from the manufacturer but NO SERIAL port can be found on the router.

Can i flash via web? and any idea i still be able to retain my 3G service after flashing with dd-wrt?

More than likely NO - you may not be able to keep the 3G service.

DD-WRT usually does not support 3G and/or DSL type modme/router combos

The device will usually work as a wireless router without any issues

As far as it still being able to work with the 3G service - it may or it may not.

If its your only device - don't risk it - stick with manufacturer firmware
and then go buy another router that is supported for DD-WRT

Preferrably a router with 8MB Flash ram - 4MB flash routers are pretty limited.

Hi guys!

There is a serial port on the board of HW550-3G. I was able to flashed it with dd-wrt firmware but the flatform of the firmware was for Buffalo WHR-G300N. The firmware was copied from 'madaleno'. I was also able and managed to revert it back to stock firmware. Actually dd-wrt was flashed in my router in hope to recover my bricked router when I accidentaly switched of the power while upgrading stock firmware. I used RS232 to TTL serial. but USB to TTL will work too.

jakekoh,

you have to open the box and the serial is in the motherboard. maybe you are looking for a connector. the serial in board are those 4 standing pins with VCC, Tx, Rx and GND assignment from pin 1 - 4.
