Hi,

I just got the d-link dir-600 but I am only getting 54mb/s wireless g connection

Build: 14815

wireless setup:

Physical Interface ra0 - SSID [D-Link]
Wireless Mode: AP
Wireless Network Mode: NG-mixed
Wireless Network Name (SSID: D-Link
Wireless Channel: 11
Channel Width: 40
Control Channel: upper
Wireless SSID Broadcast: enable

Network Configuration: Briged

Security Mode: WPA2 Personal
WPA Algorithms: AES

When I set the network mode to NG-mixed I get a wireless-g signal. When I set the network mode to Mixed I get a wireless-n signal.

Is this a bug?

Another thing to mention is that with dd-wrt set to mixed I get max 25mbit (www.speedtest.net)

With te stock firmware 2.01 I get 46mbit.

Both tested from the same range, near the router.

The max my ISP provides is 46mbit. (tested trough a wired connection)

Update:

maybe the the gpl code can provide a better driver?

Greetings

Update:

On the openwrt site I found a post about the ralink AP SDK (v 3.3.01). It should dubble the wireless speed. Link: http://open-wrt.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?id=23352

Have you tried any newer builds that fix this problem?

Thanks.

Hi,

first thank you for the great possibilities with the DD-WRT Firmware.

But i've the same problems with the wlan...it's not possible to get over the 54mbit/s connection, i've tested severak settings but without success.

My facts:

Router Model
Dlink-DIR600 rev b
Firmware Version
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) std - build 14896

Any idea?

cheers

You need to enable WPA2-AES security to get 150Mbps max LAN connection.

May we know what type or model of wireless adapters are trying to connect to your DIR-600? I did try 14896 for a while and upon installation I immediately got 150mbps without even changing any options in the DD-WRT admin page.

Btw, I reverted back to D-Link v.2.03 since I was so disappointed with DD-WRT's signal quality which was below D-Link's official firmware. I love DD-WRT's tons of tweaking options but I will wait for a new build to come out before I flash my DIR-600 to DD-WRT again. Smile

Waiting on a new build release from brainslayer.

The timeline shows major fixes in the ralink-wifi tree.

Hi,

I've acquired a DIR-600, version B2 if I'm not mistaken.

Flashed the latest firmware(15362) from http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/other-downloads?path=others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/10-05-10-r15362/dlink-dir600b/.

The router works well, without any "bug", but I cannot get more than 9 or 10 Mb/s from wifi (I've not tested via LAN). If I test with my WL-500W via wifi/lan I can get something like 30 Mb/s and +70 Mb/s respectively (speedtest.net doesn't show me more than 70Mb/s). My Internet connection offers a total of 122 Mb/s for download.

I've read a bit and it seems that the official firmwares are much more optimized regarding WLAN throughput.

I would like to know if there are DD-WRT users that could/can achieve better performance and how.

I've tried all the possible settings, like channel's, N, NG Mixed, 20/40Mhz, WPA2 AES, etc, etc.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,
Anthonws.

Hi again,

Reading ticket 1656, it seems that new builds should have solved the problem...

http://svn.dd-wrt.com:8000/dd-wrt/ticket/1656

I'll try to contact Sash to ask him.

Thanks,
Anthonws.

Hi all,

I've done further testing with my DIR-600. It seems the problem was on my modem/router that for some reason did not interacted well with the DIR-600.
Even with the default firmware I couldn't get more than 10Mbits... After a reboot on my ZON Hub router (Hitron) I could achieve 90Mbits on cable and 70Mbits via wireless.

Will check later with dd-wrt firmware.

Here's just a quick peak at my network config:

modem/router (coaxial 122Mbits)-> RJ45 -> DIR-600 (AP Mode) -> Wifi -> WL-500W (Client Bridge)

Thanks all!!!
