New Brainslayer build, let the testing begin

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/11-21-10-r15778

Edit: have flashed my E2000's to this build (real e2000 and converted wrt320n) and everything seems ok so far.

MOD EDIT:

This is the build thread for this TEST build. Do not flash unless you have a means of recovery, and do not discuss configuration of individual routers or respond to user inquiries in this thread. This thread is to be used to give information to other users and the devs, not to seek solutions to your issues. Start a new thread if you wish to discuss your issues. As per the forum guidelines:

Build threads deal with test builds. Use the thread to report information, not to seek it. Specific issues or successes that you have found that relate to that build are welcome but do not ask for assistance with a configuration problem with your router.

To fix the broken Loopback (commonly mistaken for port forwarding) in this build, read this ticket:
http://svn.dd-wrt.com:8000/dd-wrt/ticket/1868

Seems to be running fine on my converted E3000 and WRT160Nv3 - speedtest indicates the same speed as 15747, OpenVPN seems to work as does PPTP.

Unless you have a Atheros/Bufallo based router, there is no point to use this build...

I actually do have 2 Atheros based units Smile , but aside from that, only other reason i would see to use this build is because 15747 is simply removed from the main branch. So if someone wanted to try a newer build, this would be the newest.

My guess for why 15747 was removed is Changeset [15755] by BrainSlayer - fix nvram bug. So this build does apply to everyone.

NTFS support still not working properly.

LE: after manually inserted fuse and after two reboots managed to mount NTFS partition with ntfs-3g.

This is some strange behavior.

I flashed my E3000 with 15778 and all is running fine. I did notice some increased memory usage, but does not seem to have an impact. DDNS, WPA2 AES, clients on both radios, 40 mhz channel width on the 5 ghz freq and speeds are high and signal is good. So far so good.

Bothering to upgrade would probably depend on what the bug is. Can anyone divine that information?

Looking at the diff:

The X86 version wasn't doing a mkdir for the nvram that it should have been.

Code:

#ifdef HAVE_X86
...
eval("mkdir", "-p", "/usr/local/nvram");
#endif
