Been trying to get my old laptop to work. The internal mini pci card (3com) works but the Dlink DFE-690TXD in the PCMCIA slot doesn't work although it shows up. I think it uses the Realtek driver.

Greetings Brian, is this card destined to be supported? I don't see anything about it in the newest 2.6.20-rc3 kernel tree.
None of the boxes I looked at last night at Staples give any clues as to what chipset is in the device, so throw me a lifesaver in the form of a brand name to buy so I can get the right one next time I'm in town, in this case in about 1.5 hours I head out.
Thanks & Cheers, Gene _________________ --

Hello All,
I'm trying to use a couple of PCMCIA network cards. They are:
3Com Etherlink III 3C589C , and
Xircom IIPS
When I run "lspci" these cards don't appear at all. But they do run fine when I was using Windows 98 on the same laptop.
Anyone know what might be wrong?
i need the lspci information. all whats not shown in it is not working. and also if you think its not shown. post the lspci info _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? Sounds like a Mac to me.." - Louis Rossmann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL_5YDRWqGE&t=60s

I am using a Soekris net4521
This is running x86 version from 02-12-2007, as the 02-16-2007 version locks up and won't completely boot. The wireless card that isn't working for me is a Senoa NMP-8602 Plus (FCC) LFP MiniPCI card. The wireless page on the web interface shows but the only buttons are "Save Settings" and "Cancel Changes." I am hopeful this card will work soon since it is an Atheros card...
