Hi All,

I have a (well two actually Shocked ) Buffalo WZR-HP-AG300H routers. Not NH, just plain H. I have been trying to upgrade then to DD-WRT but have had little to no luck. I have been prowling the forums and can only find information pertaining to WZR-HP-AG300n, or the WZR-HP-AG300NH. I did find the wzr-hp-ag300h-dd-wrt-webupgrade-MULTI.bin file but the router rejects it saying it is not the proper firmware. My existing firmware is the Buffalo WZR-HP-AG300H Ver.1.70.

I haven't been able to locate a TFTP version for this router. If anyone has any experience or advice regarding this it would be greatly appreciated. I have my DKU-5 cable on order, so I won't be able to serial connect that way until it comes in and if I can get it up an running before then all the better.

Cheers,

CB

Well my DKU5 cable came in yesterday and I was able to get a little further with this machine.

I was able to transfer a flash image over, but it was ignored totally.

I was able to connect to the serial port and watch the machine boot, however, the uboot environment seems locked. I was not able to get into it using CTRL-C.

I tried the procedure here http://scarygliders.net/?p=13 but no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to try and break into the uboot environment? I have been thinking about shorting the chip during boot, but would rather use that as a last attempt.

Thanks,

CB

PS If you can help and are in Tokyo...I'll buy you a beer! Laughing

3) Quickly interrupt u-boot at the tftp stage

It is when you see the following that you must press CTRL-C!!

    tftp server(receive) go, waiting:4[sec]
Trying eth1 eth1 link down FAIL
    Trying eth0 eth0 is duplex
    ag7100_check_link: _100BASET
    Load address: 0x81f00000

Then you’ll get this:
    Abort no file was loaded.
    ### main_loop entered: bootdelay=4
    ### main_loop: bootcmd=”bootm 0x81f00000″
Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0

Hit CTRL-C again at this point! The router will then stop the boot sequence and enter the u-boot console, which is where you have complete control over what you can do with the router

Thanks.

Yes, well as I said, I followed the instructions. When you hit CTRL-C at the tftp phase, it does nothing. TFTP is not aborted and it proceeds. I am wondering if it is locked, or if there is a special method required to enter uboot.

Cheers,

I managed to get a little further with this router.

I shorted the flash during boot, and it gave me an error and then paused with a message to hit CTRL-C.

Hitting CTRL C did absolutely nothing. I reconfimed my tx was cabled properly, but couldn't get any further. Now I am wondering if they have somehow disabled the tx on the serial port and maybe I need to wire in a bridge. If I get this thing working I'll update it here.
