If I was you I would be very wary of doing a reset as although my memory is now bit hazy I am sure my problems occured after a reset and all was well before.

Same here. I was up and running just fine. I had several devices connected to it just to test it out (I was anxious). Then I did the final step of the 30/30/30 reset, and all went awry.

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes that's correct. Mine would appear to be bricked. I have just the link light list constantly, and no matter how many 30/30/30's I do, I get nothing different.
I don't think there is much hope for us with bricked units. I haven't given up just yet but it is a job which has a low priority compared with all the other things I have to do.
I will update here if and when I make any progress unbricking the unit.

I was able to connect to the unit through the serial port, and this is the error message I get:

I can send commands to the CFE prompt, but the CFE environment is new to me and I am still learning what can and cannot be done.
I know other Cisco routers can be recovered through the serial port alone, and since this one doesn't seem to have a JTAG port (that anyone has found the contact points to anyway) I am hoping the same is true with the CFE in this Linksys unit.
I have tried sending the file using Hyper-terminal's Send File command with the xmodem protocol as outlined by this page:

hoping it would work, but it seems like maybe I need to issue a command at the CFE prompt first to tell the WRE54G to receive the file, as the transfer does not appear to work.
If anyone is interested, these are the CFE commands that the "help" command says are available. (There may be others that are hidden though, I have no way to find out.)

Also, does anyone know how to start the wireless interface from the CFE prompt? Then it would be possible to connect to the unit wirelessly and upload a new firmware with the TFTP protocol. Just an idea.

Read the serial recovery wiki. It explains exactly what you need to do.
The problem is the WRE54G unit has no Ethernet ports at all, it is wireless only, and everything I can find on TFTP (including the serial recovery wiki) is aimed at units with Ethernet ports. I need to be able to transfer data over the serial port only, or find a way to initialize the wireless by using CFE commands, or another method of flashing the Intel memory chip.
If anyone knows how to determine the JTAG points on the WRE54G circuit board (it doesn't have a header), and wants to point me in the right direction, that would be great!

I'm stuck at the same point as everyone else. I'm using PuTTY in Windows 8 and I can send/receive all kinds of CFE commands and responses. I've been trying to find a way to start up the wireless, but I haven't found anything yet. If I could just find some way to get the firmware file over there everything would work great!. ugh. It's driving me nuts that if I just had some way of getting the .trx over there everything would probably be fine.....
We need the CFE command LOADB to load binary file in to memory from Hyper Terminal (kermit mode), but there isn't at all...

The right way is to activate WIFI interface from CFE, but I don't know how.
So I've been thinking about this pretty much nonstop and I've decided that I don't think there's going to be any way of activating the wireless from CFE. Everything in the CFE is labeled eth0 indicating that it is a wired ethernet port. My board has 4 pins labeled EH. down where the Ethernet port is on the v2 model. So, I'm thinking if we can just figure out the green/greenwhite and orange/orangewhite pinout there, we would then be able to connect up to it, fire up eth0 from the CFE and then tftp the stock .trx firmware over. The only problem is that I don't have the slightest clue how to determine pinouts for and ethernet port. I'm going to do some research and let you know what I find. If I can't find anything, I may just start trying combinations since it just won't work if I get it wrong.
Sorry but I think the isn't an ethernet connection. It is marked SW3, so it's a switch. The positions of the holes is the same of the others switch SW1 and SW2.
