Hello!

I'm contemplating flashing my WRT610N v2.0 to DD-WRT (stock firmware has just been disappointing in performance, mostly resulting in having to frequently reboot the router if wanting any performance out of it - also, multicasting performance is appalling).

I'm mostly wondering what's the difference between

ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/V24-K26/svn15943-snow/dd-wrt.v24-15943_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_wrt610nv2.bin

and

ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/12-18-10-r15940/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-15940_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_wrt610nv2.bin

for the starting mini flash and the subsequent upgrade to the "mega" build. Is it just different packages included?

The difference is file size and packages included. Read up on how to flash your raouter and to do the router resets. Once you flashed it with the initial mini file they recomend then flash it to the big file that is current and you should be happy.

Hi all,

i have a WRT610N v1 and have some problems with the 5GHz connection. Now i would upload a new Firmware.
My Question is now could i upload this firmware files?
dd-wrt.v24-15943_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_wrt610nv2.bin
dd-wrt.v24-15943_NEWD-2_K2.6_big.bin

Or is this File only for WRT610N V2.0 Router?

What Version should i use then?

Few details you left out here...

Is the unit already flashed with dd-wrt or are you going from stock to dd-wrt?

Since you already have dd-wrt on there, and a K2.6 build to boot, you could flash with the file you listed..

dd-wrt.v24-15943_NEWD-2_K2.6_big.bin

Just make sure to use proper flashing techniques such as hard reset before and after the flash.

Is anyone running latest Talisman 2.11 beta on WRT610N? How is it doing? I'm mostly interested in QoS if that works fine.

Hi, new DD-WRT user here.

So I got myself a WRT610nv2 last week, and decided to try Dd-WRT last night.

I bricked my router on my first attempt. Laughing Due to me being careless, I didn't notice I was flashing a wrong firmware. (I knew which firmware to flash but I just didn't bother to recheck its filename. Laughing ).

No FW mgmt mode after 30-30-30, so I had to use eko's trick.
(So long warranty!Shocked).

I've also had it converted to E3000. :P

Right now I'm running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/24/10) mega.

Just tryed various versions but dd-wrt still lacks throughput for me. With original i can get around 118Mbit/s with dd-wrt highest i get is ~100Mbit/s

I have DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/12/10) mega on my WRT610N V2. It has been stable for my usage but now that I want to start using OpenVPN I am wondering if there is a better build? I am not an "expert user" so easy setup of OpenVPN is important for me.

BTW now that I have DD-WRT running I can just go ahead and flash a new build using the Firmware Upgrade page, right?
