QOS - gnutella protocol to bulk priority
see the wiki for howto

I find that when one of my users is bringing the network down with torrent or something, verbal threats work better than QOS. Watch the log for limewire activity and threaten to cut the net. Or ask him to use it only overnight.

That won't block gnutella, it'll just set it's bandwidth priority lower, correct? I think he wanted to block gnutella outright

To totally block a service, in the GUI go to Access Restrictions and select gnutella under "blocked services"

Ok found a fix:

http://dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=92706&sid=02b9e849c01b0fd0e59aefdacc0d3423

To quote NeODarK:

"1. Go to ==> Administration ==> Commands (in some versions is Diagnostics)
2. Wen we´re here, copy and paste the next lines in the box:

iptables -I FORWARD -m ipp2p --ipp2p -j DROP
iptables -I OUTPUT -m ipp2p --ipp2p -j DROP
iptables -I INPUT -m ipp2p --ipp2p -j DROP
"

This basically shut down the gnutella network, but morpheus still connects to the neo network...

Ok. After alot of testing the v24 RC6 does block p2p traffic like its supposed to from the access restriction -> block services menu. The command above will do it also.

I think I have found a solution, but can't remember exactly how I did it from memory. I am at work now and can't tell how you at the moment, but I can figure it out when I get home. I reconfigured this one sororities' router to block Limewire after tons of experimenting, and so far it seems to have worked since I've stopped seeing the ports open up under uPNP.
