I had quite a day. I bricked my Buffalo router. I had to wire in a TTL serial cable to the buf main board and tftp to get it restored.

I restored the June ddwrt from Buffallo FW which has the customized skin. It worked fine but had factory defaults. I restored a nvram.bin file from before I bricked it (it was an April ddwrt FW before I bricked it.) Now everything works, but my ddwrt management interface is plain text (cant find the stylesheets).

I figured it was just a config setting for the skin but I think Buffalo removed the skin selectbox because I cant find it anywhere.

I ssh'd into the box and found /www/style/buffalo and /www/style/pwc dir but they are empty. Based on the "source" of the web page, ddwrt is trying to reference the following style sheets:
style/elegant/style.css,
style/pwc/default.css
style/pwc/ddwrt.css

I cant find any css files on the device using *find*.

Anyone have some suggestions. I cant believe I unbricked a buffalo only to get stuck on a css file! :)

Colin

You shouldn't use nvram backups on different builds or devices. It should only be used for the same exact device running the same exact build that it was created with. Hard reset and reconfigure it.

access by ssh and set:

nvram set router_style=buffalo (if you install de buffalo version)

or

nvram set router_style=elegant (standard ddwrt)

exactly...if it is the non buffalo version of the software...and you have router_style=buffalo set...you will see the display you pictured above without any styling.
