Hey all,

I managed to get myself locked out,

Last night one of my AP's crashed and reverted to factory defaults, 192.168.1.1,

I got it back to life via TFTP, loaded on dd-wrt SP1 mini

Originally the AP was running SP2, and now when I login it rejects the password,

The access point is located 8 meters above me and it's a pain in the butt to just get it down and press a button to reset!

There's no other way to get it to accept a username again is there without doing the proper reset??

Just curious if someone knows the decyrpted password maybe I can use that and it would work,

I'm still default root/admin

Laughing Laughing

you could give root/bJz7PcC1rCRJQ a try...
Since bJz7PcC1rCRJQ is the encrypted admin and should be stored inside you nvram and SP1 reads it out cleartext...

Your A Life Saver dude,

for anyone else who is in my position,

Try root/bJz7PcC1rCRJQ

in SSH! it will work if you have left the default login,

Won't work in the webconfig page though

Once inside SSH

Do this

Quote:
nvram set http_passwd=""
nvram commit

Your SSH session should look like this

Quote:
~ # nvram set http_passwd=""
~ # nvram commit
nvram_commit(): start
nvram_commit(): end
~ #

Thank you !!!! Shocked Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I guess it is impossible... since NO password will encrypted end up in blank or admin...

I think he had SP1 running which has cleartext passes stored in nvram and then, at least I think he did, he changed the password back to root/admin.
After flashing to SP3 he still has "admin" in nvram but it gets compared to crypt("admin")... So he needs XXXXXX where admin = crypt("XXXXXX").
Or he changed the password to clear and now needs a pass that equals "" when encrypted...

But just my thoughts...

I do have access to another 4 access points that are running the same build of SP3.

Is there anyway I can replicate what ive done to the other access point to somehow retreve the encrypted password from one of my other access points?

then use it to get access again to my locked out access point! :D

Wonder? Twisted Evil
