Client Mode Search?

Hi,
Im not sure if this is a n00b question, ive been searching the forums for awhile and not found what im looking for.

I was wondering if when you have the router in Client Mode can you search and view wireless Access points to connect to?
Is there a command to type, or is it somewhere im not looking?

Thanks in advance, all information very much appreciated.

By the way im using the WRT54G with DD-WRT v23 SP2
