Hello!

I have been using DD-WRT for a while now.

I have a linksys wrt54g router with DD-WRT V23 SP 2.

but i have a problem. I am currently on my school network, so i have DCHP turned off on the router, allowing the school routers to assign my IPs. Connect to the LAN ports of my router is my HP Networked printer. I use the router so that i can have wireless in my dorm room.

I have an above normal knowledge of how networks work, although What i would like to see if i can Seperate the Printer onto a seperate VLAN i guess (i am not sure how VLANS work) But what i would like the printer to be Sepearte from the School internet, so that random people CANNOT print from different rooms.

i really just want my Wireless to work with the school internet and ALSO the printer, although i would like to see if the printer could be seperated, if this is possible.

So

(SCHOOL NETWORK Plugged in to WAN)->WRT54G
.........................................................../.........\
...............wireless + LAN port 3 + 1- NO WAN........WAN + LAN Ports 1,2,4 + Wireless

Thank you SO MUCH for your help, i have been messing with settings and not been able to figure it out.
