MOD edit - There is now an E2500 wiki, please use it as reference and do not use the database build (until its changed) or the test build within this thread as it will cause a reboot loop on your E2500 and you will have to recover it using a serial connection
UPDATE 3/29/2012
Flash bins only 18710 and higher.

I have tried to private mail Eko this output and the CFE.bin but it is stuck in my outbox, not sure maybe his mailbox is full....
Eko if you need anything more on this please let me know.

The last post on this has been over a year ago. I wanted to see if there is any word on when we might be able to use DD-WRT on the e2500, because while the box said the router has parental controls, it sure didn't say how crappy those controls are.
Thanks in advance for all your hard work, I know I appreciate it, and I am sure everyone else does too!

More like 2 weeks ago. The e2500 didn't even exist a year ago, it came out only a few months ago and adding support takes time. Eko has been adding support for some of the other models and he'll get around to this one eventually.

Ok, I feel very dumb. I was looking at the user's join date, rather than the post date. So, yep, ok, this is where I crawl under the loser couch.
Anyways, can't wait for dd-wrt to be ready for this device. The device itself is preforming TOP NOTCH. Great signal strength, dual band working like a charm. HOWEVER, the stock parental controls are the crappiest I have ever seen on a Linksys/Cisco. I imagine they dumb'd it down so router-challanged can make use of the controls, however, all they did on my side was remove everything I could have used to make this thing work until dd-wrt was ready.
There is NO port blocking in the access control.
Even internet blocking they removed all the AM's from the drop down. So where I use to say, block internet from 1am till 10am, not anymore, best I can do is midnight to AM.
Sorry to vent a bit. The hardware is solid. Firmware, crap. On a daily basis I go back and forth, should I go get another router, or can I wait the time needed for dd-wrt. Everyday. Today, I am thinking about going to get something else cause I need the access restriction control. Tomorrow I will be thankful for the range this little device is putting out. Back and forth... Ugh. Please be good to me guys, I can't wait to be your tester.

Just wondering what you do to get the cfe.bin file on a router running a stock linksys firmware like the E2500. Do you need a JTAG cable, or is it possible to do another way?
