Hi I have had an issue where the wireless completely drops off between 5 and 15 days of use. I am running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (01/24/11) std
(SVN revision 16060).
A month ago when it was down, I had some time and jumped on a directly connected PC, it was working through ethernet. I SSH'ed into the box and ran top. I think there was an httpd using around 40% CPU and something else using the rest (I forgot to copy the top output sorry).
Last time it happened twice while I was hosting a game server on PC. There was probably torrents going too if that helps.
What should I look for next time this happens?
BTW, you should update the Router Database to include a newer build as supported for the PowerAP N. The current one doesnt work correctly if you have flashed the newer AirOS firmwares because of a new bootloader.
None of my wireless devices are connecting to the network, and there have been no P2P apps running on the network in the last 24 hours. The only thing that was going on when it stopped working was my roommate playing PS3 online.
I logged in via ethernet and there are a lot of these errors:
Code:
<4>[1238528.760000] wifi0: no skbuff (ath_rx_poll)
Is this the place to get support? Not particularly happy paying $25 to beta test a product that freezes every few days on a device that was promised to be supported.

use the alternate ath9k builds. they are running much better without memory leakage problems we know _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? Sounds like a Mac to me.." - Louis Rossmann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL_5YDRWqGE&t=60s
i spoke to BS. you should use the bullet ath9k build
The Bullet devices are physically so different from the PowerAP N router. I had a bad feeling about using either of the two Bullet ath9k firmwares (ubnt_bullet_m2_hp_ath9k, ubnt_bullet_m5_hp_ath9k) from the eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2011/06-14-11-r17201 folder.
However the Ubiquiti AirRouter is physically similar to the PowerAP N according to a tech at Ubiquiti. I downloaded the ath9k firmwares for the AirRouter and the two Bullets and did a binary comparison of the three; they're identical.
Just for peace of mind I'm going to use the AirRouter labeled firmware to update the PowerAP N. It makes ever so slightly more sense to me.
I also own a Power AP N and feel the need to get it "upgraded" since AirOS is a little limited even with CLI.
How went the testing using the AirRouter firmware?
I'm a little lost regarding what dd-wrt firmware should I go to start with since in Router Database it shows a bullet M2 firmware and on the Supported Devices it shows a firmware that I can not find (.v24 SP2 - build 16059)
How went the testing using the AirRouter firmware?
I haven't yet changed from AirOS to DD-WRT on my PowerAP N due to time constraints.
Currently the PowerAP N is linked by wire to the Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 AP-router (running DD-WRT v24 SP2) on my wireless network. The PowerAP N is configured as a wireless-N only AP with its own unique SSID and channel. The WHR-HP-G54 doesn't do 802.11n; I'd love to replace it with the PowerAP N. That has to wait till I can make the PowerAP N do DHCP reservations with either its native AirOS or DD-WRT.
I'd love to play with the PowerAP N; unfortunately I just can't make the time.
