Previous instructions are outdated and creating confusion. An updated guide would be great with the latest scripts that are scattered over threads.

this big thread is full of compile errors
main problem - toolchain is not actual, so tut from devs with actual toolchain will be very helpful

For those who find themselves on this thread wanting to know WTF ?? Some background on the need for DCHP Option 212

DHCP Option 212 = RFC5969 for setting up 6rd = RFC5569 (IPv6 Rapid Deployment)

Simply put, another way of getting IPv6 over IPv4 only networks

For those who want to learn more:
http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5569

Now:

If you have:
1. Download the source tree and the appropriate kernel, which does take a while,
2. Downloaded the appropriate toolchain
3. Appended the correct toolchain to your $PATH environment variable

You can build just the udhcpd package by typing make udhcpd from the ./src/router directory in the source tree.

This will give you a binary of the appropriate bits you need hidden somewhere in ./src/router/udhcpd.

You can then take the bits and use the firmware modification kit to replace the old binaries in the DD-WRT firmware directory tree.

I suspect, however, that the 212 feature/issue may not be as simple as a recompile, and there may be some kernel stuff too. I'm not as up to date on practical IPv6 implementations as I should be.

I know this may not help, but give it a go.

Maybe something on the cards for the developers ? As if they don't have enough already Wink

have a play and report back
