*Please note that I do not have any wireless-N capable devices to test with and I realize this is a concern for many people. This is just to show stability of a wireless G router with dd-wrt.
The purpose of this thread is to document the stability of dd-wrt build 14144 on a WHR-HP-GN. I have seen several threads about the lack of ath9k support so I thought it might be good to discuss madwifi drivers.
I will periodically be updating screenshots to show changes in stability. At the time of this writing 11/1/11, my router has been up for 8 days.
I have configured my router for G-only wireless connectivity and WPA2 AES. I've also disabled the web gui. There are also some minor configuration changes such as the chains and tx power.
For the record I do not experience dropped connections and all of my devices (cell phones/laptops/desktops) can connect without problems. I will do some additional testing when I have time.
I am removing my mac address from the screenshots and doing some cropping. I hope this thread helps someone in making some decisions on their firmware choices.

Anyways, I can report that in G-only mode, my whr-hp-gn with build 17135 worked fine for around 60 days and then started to slowdown, then I power cycled it and has been working fine again for 21 days. So I can conclude the problems arise as soon you use WiViz (any mode) and/or N-mode in any variation (I do have a N Atheros client to test). _________________ If you want support, please read first the announcements and forum rules.
