I fall back to an older firmware version and it works correctly with no issues.
This is using a wnd3700 v1

DD-WRT v24-sp2 (02/17/11) std - build 16214

Any version newer than this I get the disconnect issues.

Arg... Had the same problems--- 3700v2....

Ended up having to switch over to Openwrt as well...

Took a day to setup, but now my Openvpn connection is stable once again...

Hope this problem gets sorted in the future -- the dd-wrt gui is so much better!

kenja00, could you please give us link where you downloaded OpenWRT for WNDR3700v2 and comment how is your WiFi working with OpenWRT? I have some problems with WiFi on DD-WRT right now (low range).

Found it on their download site...
http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/10.03.1-rc5/ar71xx/

Filename I used was
openwrt-ar71xx-wndr3700-jffs2-factory-NA.img

No problems with Wifi -- but I've heard it's not really a firmware problem with the low range, but hardware. I didn't have range problems with DD-WRT so it'll be interesting to see if it makes a difference for you...

Good luck!

This is second WNDR3700v2 in my hands with same WiFi problem while using DD-WRT. Seems like WiFi signal goes down after some time when DD-WRT installed. Sad

Thank you for sharing. I will try to configure it some day Wink

Also waiting for DD-WRT ath9k...

we continue to receive reports of this issue, firmware downgrades have not solved the problem. neither has modifying (or removing) mssfix/fragment as suggested by sash.

-Bump-

Any news on the OVPN issue?
We had bought 10 x 3700v2 Routers some time ago as replacement to our aged 200MHz Broadcom Buffalos.

Now they are lying around just for catching dust...

But from what I figured out: Transfer stuckes asap on Windows/SMB shared drives. Using Win-SCP and uploading onto a Linux Box works!

Very mysterious things...

I'm currently using 18024 (latest version as of 20/12/11 and have no problems using openvpn. The WNDR3700 v1 is set up as a server using routed (tun) configuration. Do the problems reported affect all wndr3700s v1 and v2 or just some?

The was a bug in version 17201 for WNDR3700v2(v1 ?). I do not know if bug still exists in 18024. I have not tried 18024 yet. I'm waiting for 18054+. There should be some wifi tab fixes. Then will check VPN issue again.

I am using a conjoined Openvpn server. The WNDR3700 has 2 instances of openvpn running, server and client. Both are configured by script - I don't like using the http interface. Both have been working solid for 2 days now (since configured) with no disconnections from anyone. I doubt setting up in the http interface will be much different, but for me its working well - just no nmbd for setting a wins server!

Tested this morning. 18024 OpenVPN Client on 3700v2 not working. Tried same build and parameters with a buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH -> no problem.
