Problem with last Buffalo branded
DD-WRT v24SP2-MULTI (10/31/11) std - build 17798
The router is wireless client to primary adsl router and defined VAP. Everything is functioning normal except 'nslookup':
I did with positive impression (16785 > 18000 via web GUI):
- DDNS works
- Wireless - don't know since I use Netgear WINDR3700
- DDSMasq ok
- openVPN works now with GUI config (not config file)
- USB says "not mounted" but it mounts (ext2) and NAS functions with OsX clients
- Earlier NAS share was mounted at "/mnt", in this version at "/tmp/mnt/sda_part1"
- no problems with other functions I use
In summary: the first functioning version since 16785. Is there any improvement over the older? Honestly, I do not know or notice. However, with my AP router (WINDR3700), everything has speeded up with the new version. I could use both 5GHz and 2,4GHz radios, no errors, no dropping issues. So far so good.
Thanks to the developers - was worth to upgrade (by the way, I have upgraded via Web GUI and did not do any reset - neither 30/30/30 nor reverting back to the factory settings.
mod 14/12/11. And thereafter, immediately went from 18000 > 18007 via webflash without any problems - nice living dangerously
I upgraded to 18007 and found it no better or worse for my situation.
I'm running it in client bridge mode and my home network works fine. However internet connection only lasts about 15 seconds before dying.
Anyone got any suggestions as to how I can diagnose what's going on?
I can start pinging google and see it die between one ping and the next. Is there some logging I could do during this that might shed more light on the matter?

Thanks vpritiskovic for taking the time to help out. I just checked the firmware upgrade site and now all I can see is the 1.79 version from January 2011.
So this version has samba server and USB port support?
Anyone know if there is a quick way to power down unused usb devices attached to the router?
My automount doesn't work with every router reboot (still on Buffalo 14998 so I'd rather the usb drive doesn't shut down but then having it run 24/7 may not be the best thing to do. Anyway way to quickly switch from auto shut off for the USB devices?
I'm going to upgrade to the 18021 firmware tonight and we'll see how that goes.

No there is newer from December the 5th
Thank you. Yes, I'll try the 18021 tonight.
Tried the version 18024 and I finally have samba server and USB support though it says the drive isn't mounted. I'm actually using a powered USB hub as I don't have a 3.5" hdd with a power supply.
Any way to safely unmount my USB drive through a custom script?
I'm a newbie here and would like to know if this is possible as the USB eject button at the back of the router doesn't seem to work with the version 18024.
