i have a rev b5 router (, i went to the shop, asked for this model previewed the label, it was rev B"something" i was happy and when i got home i realised that b5 does not support dd-wrt firmware yet
Hardware later than rev b2 is currently not supported by dd-wrt.
Most probably will not be supported anywhere in the future since the Ralink chip itself not supported.
Gotta say, had two of these router. Pretty good and cheap too. Too bad the newer revision ruined dd-wrt support
I also have a D-Link DIR600 H/W Ver.: B5 F/W:2.10 !
Are there some changes, will anything be done?
Does the wait is worth?
Nope. Most probably they won't be any change. Support for a new chipset is quite hard to come by. Usually they work with different router but with the same chipset. In this case, DIR600 B2 uses Ralink RT3050 which is supported by DD-WRT. DIR600 B5 uses Ralink RT5350, which currently is not supported
I'm happy to say that when I saw how well it worked on D-LINK 600vb2 I bought two extra routers. I'd get one on eBay if you can...but mine are not for sale.
Unfortunately, we can't expect the developers to just drop everything and develop for a new chipset....it might as well be a different router with the new chipset. _________________ What the heck is a "ButtWeasel" anyway?
