U should read the OpenWRT wiki pages for that;

http://wiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs/Customizing/Hardware/MMC

Checkout the v2 part, and read about the gpio utility, i used it aswell to figure out my gpio's and it seemed my point 3 and 4 where switched aswell, so be carefull.

Yup, just wire them all together,or either way bridge the 2 vss points first and then connect one off them to GND.

Will my router spoil if my GPIO 3 / 4 was connected wrongly?

As far as i know, it wont brick your router, as long as u make sure the gpio's arent bridged (like GND actually will be). Its just wont work and give u a lot off headaches.

U can allways connect wires to the points, and take a multimeter and use the GND as - and connect the wires to + on at a time. Just use the commands for the gpio utility (explained on wiki), for every port (e.g. 3, 4 , 5, 7 on my v2). Some gpio orginally have 3.3v sother have 0.1v, so allways measure before using the gpio utility and write it down.

So when u activate a gpio through the utility to go on and off all the time, u should see a current getting on and off the the gpio (0 - 3.3v). I checked one point at a time, and each time seeing if there was a current on the gpio at first, and how it was after i used the utility, and thats how i found my gpio's, pretty simple once u dont the first.

and again;

dont make them shortcut at any time, use tape or whatever to space them and hold them in position somewhere while u measure.
