One might extrapolate that you start with the mini and once it is running DD-WRT, you can then upgrade to and run any build with any SVN that supports the WNDR4000. _________________ Netgear WNDR4000 (N750) - DD-WRT pending

Yes. I have recently installed the mega build (dd-wrt.v24-18024_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin) onto my WNDR4000. I was on stock firmware, so I had to use the mini build .chk, then use the mega .bin file from there.
So far, so good here. Both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands working fairly well, and it's been stable. I'm still quite new at this router custom firmware business, but it's been smooth. I'm liking DD-WRT, so far.
Installed this just a few hours ago.
Seem to be having big issues with wireless N / 5Ghz
wl0 is fine and happy.. except it will only do 54mbps not 300mbps
but wl1 is not.. first i was having issues with my laptop not being able to find the network but ddwrt said it was up and running and should be there, turning on and off WPA2, turning on and off SSID etc etc eventually got it showing up fine.. but now, I cant seem to get it to run at 450mbps rate...
running as N-only (5ghz) was only running at around 200mbps rate..
after switching it to NA-mixed it bounces between 1mbps and 450mbps .. often times being unresponsive (web pages load up feeling like dialup and have issues displaying the routers ddwrt page without timeouts)
I am yet to play with the wl1-advanced settings yet to see if anything there will sort this out.
Is it possible that 40mhz channel width isn't working?

Port forwarding has not worked properly for me on my factory NetGear firmwares .66 .82 and .82. I haven't cared much because I haven't had the need to do a VPN until now.
For whatever reason I can't forward ports 47,50,51,500, and/or 1701. However, Port 1732 does forward successfully.
Moreover, I can't even get ports 20-21 (FTP) to forward/open.
Lastly, if i put a random port number in eg "9371" it does open successfully.
Not sure if this helps the developers at all; but, for those having issues with DD-WRT and portforwarding it might not be an issue with DD-WRT; NetGear is sending me a replacement.
Try this version: ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2011/12-09-11-r17990/broadcom_K26/. either the WND4000-specific chk for new flashes from stock or your desired nv64k package. the 5GHz radio seems fine on this build. As for getting 450mbps, try setting Afterburner to "Auto" under "Wireless/WL1-Advanced". Hope this helps. First post !

Very new to the DD-WRT.
I have loaded this firmware on the router:
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/20/11) big - build 18024
All looks to be working good.
My question How can I use the attached USB drive as a DLNA server? I saw some posts about miniDLNA in the services/NAS admin screen, but I only have the proFTPd and samba options there.
FYI, the reason DLNA is important to me is to stream movies to my xbox 360.

I would also be very interested in this.
I have a 1.5tb hdd plugged into my router currently, setting it up as a samba share was easy.. but a big annoyance with the original firmware was that the DLNA "ready NAS" whatever was horrible and just would not work or only show up a hand full for files from the first folder on the drive and not everything... would be great to have a more stable and properly working alternative with ddwrt
seems like setting the afterburner to auto didn't help.
5Ghz doesn't feel very stable, really bad signal strength even when laptop is sitting next to the router. and speed is pretty poor..
faster and more reliable just sticking with 54g on 2.4ghz
also DNS feels really sketchy, sometimes names will resolve right away, other times it can take 10mins before it starts working properly.
