What is the difference between these two???

my WR840 has Client Bridge (Routed), while WAP54G has Client Bridge.

I have tested Client Bridge and it is as I expected: to bridge two LAN/WAN to the same subnet.. but what about Client Bridge (Routed)?

Anyone to pin point a tutorial on this matter?

THanks

As far as the modes themselves are concerned, client bridge and client bridge (routed) are the same, just that one is broadcom's mode and the other is Atheros modes.

ya... all my Aetheros DDWRT has client-bridge-routed
while broadcom DDWRT only has "client-bridge" notation.

and why would DDWRT dev-team have to use "client-bridge-routed"???

this really confused me...

I will have to get 2 aetheros DDWRT routers over the weekend to test em out what exactly is the difference...

What I have:

a. TPLink WR840N (Atheros)
b. WAP54G (Broadcom)
c. Netgear WNDR3700 (Atheros)

Setup 1.
WR840N as Main router 192.168.1.1, DHCP 192.168.1.100~150
WAP54G as Client Bridge 192.168.1.254
result:
TV/Laptop (tested one at a time) connected to the WAN port (WAP54G only has 1 ethernet port) was able to connect and assigned IP address given by TPLink. It is as I expected it SHOULD be!

Setup 2 (today)
WNDR3700 as main router 192.168.1.1, DHCP 192.168.1.100~150
WR840N as Client Bridge 192.168.1.3
result:
TV/Laptop (tested one at a time) COULD NOT CONNECT. WNDR3700 kept disconnecting other wifi clients as well. It appears WNDR3700 kept rebooting when in this kind of setup. I have no idea what is going on so I tried interchanging these two routers around:

Setup 3 (right now)
WR840N as main router 192.168.1.1, DHCP 192.168.1.100~150
WNDR3700 as Client Bridge 192.168.1.254
result:
Laptop connects via LAN port, and was assigned 192.168.1.131. Able to connect to internet, to wit, this part is posted through a Client Bridge (routed) connection.

I am wondering why WNDR3700 kept crashing when it is the Main Router. WIERD!!!!!!!!!

After this port, I will try hooking up a TV to WNDR3700 and see if its able to perform DLNA with it....I just finished watching a movie through this method to confirm it is "Bridged"
